Devious Journal Entry

Today I took my camera to work with me. There is a very nice Gloxina plant there, with some really nice flowers. I took about 23 shots but none of them were worth keeping. Oh well, tomorrow is another day.

I decided to strike out and call myself an artist because at heart, that is what I am. I may never make a dime, have few fans, but it is my true heartspeak. The reason our works do not seem perfect in this world is simple. They belong to the spirit world and our bodies use our art to translate the spirit world to us. It delivers lessons through the art as well, some about embracing our seeming imperfection.
I have designed renaissance weddings when I was a dresmaker, made quilts, made jewelry, made soft sculpt dolls, designed and made clothes, done photography ... but I come back to abstract art. I believe I come back because it is pure soul expression to me.
You might try it ... women 'of a certain age' (like you and me) have full spirits with much to offer. Throw it out there and all the daughters will be encouraged, and the sons, too.
Blessings ... and write often if you like. Thanks for the watch and fave!

AGGGHHHHH, there is not enough time in the day....
My secret is that I am Lupingirl's mother. I have suppported her efforts for years, through times when she did not believe in her own ability or talent, and encouraged her to follow her dream. I am so relieved and proud of her for doing it now. I do not want to be that old woman sitting in my rocker wishing I had done the things I wanted to do when I was young and able, and I sure don't want her to be that either.

I perused your gallery ... you seem to like color as much as I do!

Seriously though, it ain't no thang. They were paintings I donated to a fundraising auction - there was quite the bidding war over them, but still.... Not really a big deal.
